I had a response, but it's too much to say and it would just get thrown back in my face. I'll just take everything, suck it up, sit back and just let everyone be right in their own just to satisfy you all.
And BTW - I never said I wanted a PS3. All I said was what people were doing was ridiculous.

I wasn't specifically talking about you either. I was using a current conversation as an example and use it as comparison. I apologize if it appeared as if it came across that I was singeling you out.

No, I didn't necessarily see it as you singling me out, Red. You and I may have had our differences, but compared to then, I definitely see a change in how you approach things. I am not really very offended by your comments as much as Relay's - but hey - whatever. It's his life, and he's "applying" himself like the house keeper isn't - or the front desk clerk - or the maintenance guy who likes his job, but has to work two jobs to care for his wife and three kids, regardless if they have jobs or not. /sarcasm.
I basically got tired of trying to get my point across. So I'll just let it be that I am wrong. Since that it apparently what Relay wants to hear.

I can't believe what you just wrote. Nothing you wrote, as sarcastic as it may be, remotely reflects what I wrote. I really try to respond to you as little as possible because of this. You either don't understand or have no desire to. Never did I say these people do not apply themselves. I said my problem was with the people who don't. That's not ever one - just the people who don't. And now I'll suppose you'll tell to me to back off because its easier to think I'm attacking you then to have a valid point. Try and read my posts again. Our country can be compared to other's because of the lifestyles. That's the point. The lifestyle in this country demands much more than we actually need, and you can see that if you look around the world.
My problem is with people who are not content and will say ignorant things like "soon everything will be rich people's stuff". The people who make min wage in this country are extremely rich, they just can't see it because what the lifestyle of this country tells them.

Relay. I already said that you won. I am tired of fighting on this one, so you win. Did you read that part? You win.

You said you were wrong while basically saying I was out of line, or wrong. You said something I took offense to, I said why, and you never stated a good reason why you need to be comfortable while all those other people around the world are starving. And I'm wrong? I can live that if that's the case.
Here's the thing, stuff doesn't get thrown back in your face, things you say get responded to with legitamite retorts. Please tell me why I can't dislike the fact that people in this country would complain about how much money they don't have when people all over the world are starving? And if you just tell me you don't want to argue and I win, that means you don't have an answer. And that's all you have to really say.

OH, MY GOD!!!! Leave me alone, and take your prize, already! If I can't explain it well enough for you to understand, then there is no point anymore! You win, you win, you win!!!!!
Enough already with your arrogance. YOU WIN!!! Take it or leave it.

Funny, arrogance is what I saw that made me get into the thread. Its not that you didn't explain yourself well enough, its that I never saw anywhere that you tried to explain a point. You only agreed with Moby when he said I looked down on people and what not. What I'm tired of, is having valid points, and being accused of being some irrational, conservative hater of the working class. That is my class!

Wow. This thread was a painful read. I think Relay had some pretty reasonable points and I certainly do not see him being condescending to the working class.

dave, he did have some, and I agree we are luckier to be in the US than to be in Africa or Jamaica. I totally agree w/ that but how that figures into a discussion about how this should be taken out on the lower and middle classes escapes me. Especially when the rich are getting richer and its taking more out of the lower classes just to survive. If I had the money I would definitely donate to more causes. I do donate what I can afford which at this point in my life is not enough. I think that's a lot of people in my class though. We are living paycheck to paycheck just to get by and it sucks. I'm not saying a raise in minimum wage is the end all be all but it's a start. I really got set off with the comment that was made about how people that make less aren't doing what is considered "hard work" and if they are stuck in this situation they "aren't applying themselves enough" those are some ballsey statements, if I do say so.

I did not say those thing Moby. And if you look back I pulled out what I did write, and tried to explain them further. If I was condescending to the working class, I'd be pretty much glutton for punishment. I'd have to put myself down for being a loser every morning while I put on my work boots!
