I am part of, and sometimes write for a news website, that is mostly political. It's www.tothecenter.com. We try to write facts only, which is really very hard to do. There is also a discussion board there, and I know they are looking for writers. It is unpaid - but even if you don't write, it passes a little bit of time to go there everyone now and then to read the blurbs. It's nothing like CNN or The Orlando Sentinal or USA Today - but it's something a little different.

Well - it's hard for me to describe. The writers search for good pieces of news that can be re-written, summarized or blurbed about without bias. Writing is hard to do initself. Without with minimal or zero bias is even harder. It's a sort of project for the owner of the site - and he's a nice guy from New York. He also owns www.thecelebritycafe.com. I wrote for that one once, and that's actually how I found out about it. ONe of his writers were going through some submissions - and came across mine. That writer told Damien (the owner) that he needed to contact me because I knew how to write. The news ranges from International bits to political bits to general and local stuff, too. I haven't visited it in a few days - and it's down right now - I just hope it wasn't taken down entirely. It wasn't as busy as Damien wanted to be - but then again, he never really gave "assignments" and it was all volunteer writing - free reign with no deadlines. So I hope that he hasn't given up. I'll be able to tell tomorrow, maybe.
